Technology Dummies

The late great Albert Einstein stated, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Unfortunately, we are that generation full of idiots. Ever imagined how life would be without technology? The world would be a mess because we depend on it so heavily. Being a 90’s baby, I got a little glimpse of life without it and I am thankful for that much. Technology advancement has its good benefits as well as bad. However, the bad outweigh the good.

Now days you have social media replacing the time people would spend at the park, fishing, swimming, camping etc. We are now camping out on our couches, swimming onto our favorite social networks, fishing out juicy gossip and ways to exploit one another. Social media has caused my generation to lack originality and genuine thoughts. People are now aiming to be like those they see daily. They mock their clothing, hair, choice of opinions, and even the way they speak.

Lately this word has been circulating and its been getting quite a buzz. This word was generated through social media. Chris Brown, The Game, and Two chains are some of the musician’s we can now thank for free promotion of the word. This word is not only degrading but also ignorant and so annoying to the point that I decided to write about it. The infamous word is “T.H.O.T.” which stands for “that hoe over there.” We have so many nasty mean things we are trying to overcome in the world. Why for the life of me would people create such a disgusting word? The world refers to women. Whenever a female does anything, says anything, or wears anything not appealing to the opposite sex she is considered a “THOT.”

Young men I want you to rise above the influence and make your own decisions. You follow behind these rappers and big media names so much that you forget about your own identity. You have no mind of your own. These high profiled people throw out the silliest of ideas and you gravitate to them not realizing you all look like puppets. Regain your sense of humility and respect. Put down the iPhone down and read a book. Cherish your community and do what you can to build it up. If you keep tearing down the world we live in with self hate and disrespect what kind of world will be left for you to coexist in?
